What is The Hug 
When you need to speak to a solicitor, it’s often during a difficult time—whether it’s dealing with a loss, considering divorce, or navigating a major move. The last thing you need is more stress. 
 
That’s why we put the HUG at the heart of everything we do. 
 
The HUG means two things: 
First, after meeting with us or speaking on the phone, we want you to feel like you’ve received a virtual HUG—knowing that we genuinely care about both you and the legal advice we provide. 

Happy 

be happy when talking to the customer and aim to make them happy 

Understand 

don’t just listen to the customer, understand what the customer wants, and in turn ensure the customer understands the next stages with us. 

Give 

when we understand what is required make sure we give them the right responses and ultimately the right legal advice. 

Its all about the HUG 

We take great pride in our company’s HUG ethos, which we promote, train, and embrace throughout every aspect of our business. To keep this core value alive and visible, we hold monthly HUG awards to highlight outstanding examples of how to deliver the HUG in action. 
 
Each month, our five HUG Bearers—representing different areas of the business—meet to review nominations submitted by the team. Colleagues nominate a fellow team member who has truly demonstrated the HUG spirit. To ensure fairness, each area has its own HUG Bearer, and they serve for six months before nominating their successor. 
 
Winning the award is a special moment. While all nominations are shared with the team to inspire others, the winner receives a HUG teddy bear and £200 to spend on themselves.

Chiri 

What did she do 
Chiri showed exception client care on several occasions, the HUG Bearer’s were impressed with how she was demonstrating the HUG consistently and so well and was at the time still relatively new to the business.

Special tinted glasses from America to help with her migraines 

Rebecca 

What did she do 
Rebecca shone brightly one particular month when having only recently moved into a new department of the business manages a very complex case and distressed client. It was agreed by the HUG Bearer’s who had all been involved with or aware of this case that the way Rebecca navigated the client was exceptional.

Sammi 

What did she do 
Sammi has been with FL for many years now and always provides the best face to face service when visiting clients. Sammi does get nominations regularly as so many clients like to share what a lovely meeting they have with her. Sammi won on this occasion as she went over and above her usual role and kindly sent a client who had been recently bereaved a card, which he was really touched by.
